Tony Vitello keeps on recruiting. Tennessee baseball’s 2026 recruiting class gained another top-100 prospect today when right-handed hurler Gary Morse made his commitment to the program.

The pledge brings the number of top-100 prospects to eight in the class for Vitello, recruiting coordinator Josh Elander and staff, as Morse checks in at No. 84. The future Volunteer is considered the 19th overall right-handed pitcher (No. 1 in California) and the 15th-best prospect from California in the cycle.

Morse picked Tennessee over Texas A&M, Oregon, LSU and Vanderbilt. The prospect stands in at 6-foot-8, 190 pounds and attends Orange Lutheran high school in Bellflower, Calif. More sits in the low-90s with his fastball that is continuing to gain velocity.

Tennessee currently sits at No. 3 in the Perfect Game team recruiting rankings with 18 commitments, trailing only Texas and LSU. The Vols rank second in the 2025 rankings, behind LSU, with 25 commitments and six in the top-100.

Tennessee opens the 2025 campaign on Valentines Day against Holfstra at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. The Vols have already been preseason ranked No. 4 (D1 Baseball) and No. 5 (Perfect game) ahead of the year.
