Birmingham (Ala.) Vestavia Hills High School Tennessee Volunteers 2024 EDGE target Jordan Ross is ready to announce his college decision. The No.4 EDGE prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings announced on social media on Tuesday evening that he will announce his commitment on August 21st.

He will decide between Alabama, Florida, Tennessee and Texas at some point on Monday of next week.

Ross took official visits to Florida, Tennessee and Texas during the month of June. Coming out of his visit to Tennessee during the weekend of June 23rd, he maintained he was high on the Vols in his process.

“They still stand in the top three,” Ross told Volquest in June. “It was a great weekend. We got to go out on the lake with everybody. We got to talk about academics. I loved it.”

His relationship with Rodney Garner has been long-standing and kept Tennessee in the thick of this recruitment for months.

They make me feel like a huge priority for their system everyday, and I love it,” Ross added at the time.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is the No. 34 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. In addition to be the country’s No. 4 EDGE, he also checks in as the No. 5 recruit in the state of Alabama.

As a junior, he recorded 16 tackles for loss and a pair of defensive touchdowns while earning all-state honors for Vestavia Hills.

Ross’ On3 Scouting Evaluation: Jordan Ross

He is an edge defender who plays with his hand in the dirt and in a 2-point stance with a prototypical body type and motor that allows him to harass offenses all game long. Measures in at 6-foot-4.5, 215 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan. Ran an impressive 4.68 electronically-timed 40-yard dash paired with a 30-inch vertical and a 4.49 short shuttle during the spring camp circuit prior to his senior season. Strong and active hands at the point of attack. He flashes raw power when defending against the run while shedding blocks. Excellent first step, and get off. Tremendous closing speed in the open field, gains on ball carriers in a hurry. He will need to develop a wide array of pass-rush moves to reach his ceiling at the next level but it should come with collegiate coaching. Upside is through the roof and has his best ball ahead of him. On the younger end of the spectrum for the 2024 recruiting cycle.
