New York — Tennessee continued their hot start to the season with a 75-62 win over Miami in the Jimmy V Classic to move the top ranked team in the country to 9-0 on the season.

Tennessee was led by Chaz Lanier who scored 22 points. Igor Milicic 16 points and nine points, while Zakai Zeigler got the homecoming he had been looking for with 13 points, 9 assists and 4 rebounds. Zeigler now has 72 assists on the season. It was his four game with 9 assists this season.

Jordan Gainey and Cade Phillips both gave the Vols some bench offense with 8 and 9 respectively. Defensive stalwart Jahmai Mashack had seven.

The Vols did allow things to get interesting in the second half. Tennessee led by 18 but allowed Miami to close it 8 in the second half on a 9-0 run. But Lanier put the game on ice by scoring 7 of the Vols final 9 points over the final 4 minutes. Tennessee is now 4-0 this season against ACC schools.
