Trail Tidbits: Tennessee set for another big recruiting weekend
Tennessee has another opportunity on Saturday night to host a strong group of recruits for their SEC matchup against Kentucky. Ahead of the weekend, Volquest takes a look at several of the top targets expected on campus in this installment of Trail Tidbits.
2025 RB, USC commit Daune Morris set to take another look at Tennessee
Tennessee has continued to work to flip Daune Morris away from USC, and the Vols are expected to get the electric running back prospect back to campus this weekend. He announced the news earlier in the week on social media.
A key reason for Morris’s decision to make the trip east to Knoxville is because of the continued pursuit from running backs coach De’Rail Sims, who attended Morris’s most recent game last week.
“Really just the way he has continued to recruit me,” Morris said of how Sims has continued to prioritize him despite the commitment to USC. “With just him continuing to recruit me with how hard the way him and coach Heupel have. I have been feeling the love, but I know I am committed (to USC), too. But him coming down was a big thing for me because him being able to hold his word with what he was telling him meant a lot.”
Elite 2026 RB set to check out Tennessee for the first time this season
Morris will not be the only coveted running back target on campus this weekend. Long-time Tennessee targt Savion Hiter told Volquest earlier in the week that he plans to make his way to Knoxville.

Hiter has built a strong bond with the Vols staff dating back to the summer.
“They have told me that I have a lot of versatility because of the way I can get out of the backfield and catch the ball,” Hiter told Volquest earlier this year. “Most teams are passing teams, and Tennessee is more of a run-first team that passes, so that is good to hear.”
Top-ten WR will return to Tennessee for second time this season
Tristen Keys is an elite wide receiver target in the 2026 class, and he will return to Tennessee this weekend for the second time in the last month.
“I loved the environment,” Keys said following his visit for the Florida game, describing what stood out about the visit. “It is the loudest stadium I have ever been in. Great support from the fans. I liked how the coaches trusted the players to go out there and make a play even after a bad play. They trust them to go back out there and make a play that impacts the game. I love that.”
