VFL Players’ Lounge: Heath Shuler & Aaron Hayden preview Kentucky

Former Vols quarterback Heath Shuler and running back Aaron Hayden join Eric Cain this week on the VFL Players’ Lounge to preview Tennessee and Kentucky in the top-25 showdown at Neyland Stadium.
It’ll be the 118th all-time meetings between the two programs, a series that has been dominated historically by the Volunteers. But Kentucky has picked up three wins since 2011 and has transformed into a solid football program under head coach Mark Steeps.
The last time these two teams met in Knoxville, it was a blowout victory for the Wildcats. Kentucky’s previous win at Neyland Stadium prior to that day was all the way back in 1984. What’s in store for this version of Tennessee and Kentucky? We get you set on this week’s VFL Players’ Lounge.
The Series
No. 19 Kentucky (5-2, 2-2) at No. 3 Tennessee (7-0, 3-0). The Vols and Wildcats are set to meet for the 118th time all-time, but for only the third time as ranked foes. Tennessee won the previous two matchups back in 1950 and 1951. Tennessee won last year’s shootout, 45-42 in Lexington.
