Vol Club Confidential: Coach Chop

Tennessee has seen tremendous success on the recruiting in recent years. One of the key contributors to that success has been Levorn ‘Chop’ Harbin. He joined Vol Club Confidential sponsored by Knoxville Smiles this week to discuss his promotion to outside linebackers coach and more.
“It was an unbelievable feeling for me,” Harbin said. “Something I’ve been working towards to get back on the field and run my own room. I can’t describe the feeling because it was so different but different in a great way. Just a true blessing for me and my family.”

And now that he is running the LEO room, he has to find a way to leave his stamp.
“Really just to build on what we started four years ago with what coach Heup envisioned,” Harbin said. “Coaching the kids hard and loving them even harder. Always being honest with them and pushing them to be the best version of themselves. That’s what I’ve done since day one.”
He has been here for four plus years and has learned Knoxville is a special place.
“A lot of great places to eat and a lot of friendly people,” Harbin said. “A lot of people have been great to my wife and my kids. Not because I’m a football coach but more of just genuine people here. A lot of places you can go hide and not have to bump into people from the job. Knoxville is really spread out. A lot of scenic places to go. We love going up to Gatlinburg. We like going the scenic route over through Maryville. Just a lot of great communities around here that my family and I enjoy visiting. Just an unbelievable place for my family.”
