Tennessee tight end Ethan Davis joined Vol Club Confidential sponsored by Knoxville Smiles this week to detail his growth and how driven this team is coming off the tough loss to Ohio State back in December.
“I’m a big believer that we will always remember that game,” Davis said. “It’s the first time into the college football playoffs didn’t go how we wanted it to go. So the way I’m approaching this offseason and bring my teammates along is was everyone happy with that result? Was anyone satisfied with how that went down? So why would we come in and work the same way we did last season knowing that was the result? So I feel like spring ball is real quick. Everyone thinks seven weeks is a lot of time leading up to spring ball but it goes by quick.”
Davis caught 13 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns against opponents in 2024. He is now poised to be a bigger threat in 2025. He can’t wait to get to work next month as the Vols kickoff spring practice on March 7th.

“I feel like every opportunity I get on the field is a big opportunity to grow and get better,” Davis said. “Just be able to take advantage of every opportunity I’ve been given and earned. Me and Miles are the projected guys in the room, there is something I still have to go out there and earn and take at the end of the day because nothing will be given to me. So just still having that chip on my shoulder this entire off season just to keep pushing myself to be the best I can be.”
Davis will be counted on more with the departure of Holden Staes. He details so much in this week’s episode that you can watch below.
