Vol Club Confidential Josh Josephs I Season 3 I Episode 4

An early season playmaker for Tennessee, Joshua Josephs joined Vol Club Confidential sponsored by Knoxville Smiles this week to discuss his growth on Rocky Top.

“I feel like it started after the bowl game,” Josephs said. “In the bowl game I ended up pulling my hamstring so I didn’t get to complete the bowl game or finish it at all. I didn’t have any reps. I had less than ten. I didn’t like my performance from the bowl game. That just wrapped up my season and overall I just didn’t like how it played out.

“After the season it took a lot of prayer and talking with God. I put my faith in him one day at a time. One minute at a time. One step at a time. One rep at a time just trying to take my game to the next level.”

So what did it take each day to become so invested and driven to be a playmaker for this defense?

“Shout out to door dash and Uber eats,” Josephs said. “The amount of money I spent on that is crazy. I probably door dash two or three times a day. That’s a good way I got my weight up. Then talking to Ethan our nutritionist. If you were to go with me through my day at the facility I have two smoothies at every meal on top of what I’m eating at each meal.”

Josephs has learned that the grass isn’t always greener from old teammates who left Tennessee. He is enjoying his time in Orange.

“I didn’t know what to expect from college in general,” Josephs said. “I hear from people that transferred out of here how their colleges are way different. The time we have away from the facility. We tend to have more treatment and taking care each other. The lifting and running is completely different from what I’m hearing from my friends that transferred out.

“Grass is not always greener. I love how we train and how we work. I love how my coaches treat me. The fans are amazing and Knoxville is a calm city. It’s really peaceful.”
