Vol Club Confidential: Liam Doyle

The early season success has been phenomenal for Tennessee Friday night starter Liam Doyle. The Ole Miss transfer joined Vol Club Confidential sponsored by Knoxville Smiles this week to detail his growth in orange.
“We knew we had a really good team coming in,” Doyle said. “We knew were going to have talent but we were just trying to find pieces for where everyone was going to go. We knew the baseball was going to take care of itself. We made it a standup point to get really close with one another and I think that’s comes down from the coaching staff by setting up little events or team things in the fall being able to hang with each other and become good friends. There are always good vibes in the locker room.”
Doyle leads the country in strikeouts over the first month of the season. He has doubled his strike out total per outing over what he did last year in Oxford. So what is the reason?

“I think it all came with putting things together,” Doyle said. “I knew I always had the arm talent to pitch at the highest level. I think just mixing in my nutrition and the weight room work and the team stuff we have here is top of the line. They were able to help me put it all together starting when I came on this summer for a visit and showing me where we were going to go attack. The best things to put in my body and all that.”
