In 2019 Tennessee was 1-4 when Mississippi State came to Neyland Stadium, after losses to Georgia State, BYU, Florida and Georgia. The Vols won 20-10 to start a run of seven wins over the final eight games of the season, including six straight to end the year.
Mississippi State beat Tennessee 41-31 in Starkville in October 2012, after the Vols had won six straight in the series (1995, 1998, 2002, 2003, 2007 and 2008).
