The Volquest Mailbag Podcast: Recruiting and injury questions ahead of the Florida Gators
As Tennessee prepares for the Florida Gators on Saturday, there are some lingering questions surrounding the heath of the program. The SEC opener for the Vols is an important one, but what’s the plan if some key pieces are unavailable or limited for the showdown?
The crew of Brent Hubbs, Austin Price, Rob Lewis and Eric Cain answer those questions and more on this week’s Volquest Mailbag Podcast.
Wide receiver Cedric Tillman and running backs Jabari Small and Dylan Sampson left Saturday’s win over Akron with apparent injuries. Florida is dealing with some injuries of its own as linebacker Ventrell Miller is questionable with a lower-body injury. Fellow Gators Arlis Bardingham (tight end), Jack Miller (quarterback), David Conner (offensive line), Michael Tarquin (offensive line) and Marco Ortiz (long snapper) have already been ruled out for the contest.
Saturday is also the first marquee home match up on the schedule where prospects will flood campus to take in the game day atmosphere. The Vols are set to host five-star defensive tackle Daevin Hobbs and three-star offensive tackle Vysen Lang on official visits while other notable 2024 and 2025 prospects will be on hand.
Kickoff for Tennessee and Florida will be at 3:30 pm eastern time and the game can be found on CBS. ESPN’s College GameDay will set the scene Saturday morning as Neyland Stadium’s sold out crowd will take part in ‘Checker Neyland’ for the ballgame.
