Vols' commit George MacIntyre becomes newly minted 5-star prospect in Industry Rankings
2025 Brentwood Academy quarterback and Tennessee Volunteer commitment George MacIntyre has earned five-star status in the On3 Industry rankings.
MacIntyre’s bump to five-star status in the Industry Rankings comes on the heels of moving up eight spots to No.12 overall in the 2025 On300 Rankings on Wednesday afternoon.
MacIntyre’s move up both rankings makes him the second highest rated quarterback in the On300 and the third best quarterback in the Industy Rating system.
On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings, Charles Power, has been high on MacIntyre for sometime now.
“George MacIntyre has a lot of translatable tools and skills that make him one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 cycle,” Power told Volquest following MacIntyre’s January commitment. “I think starting off, having seen MacIntyre on film and in two live games to this point, he has very good arm talent. This is a guy who is sound mechanically, throws a really tight ball and can deliver it to different areas of the field with velocity and touch. We really like the way he layers his passes. He can change speeds on the ball and push the ball down the field. In large part due to his mechanics, can hit some tight windows in the middle of the field as well. You watch his film and there is a lot of high level throws and he has a variety of throws in his bags. I think he is a very good functional athlete at the position for his height. He moves well in the pocket and you see him make defenders miss. He avoids pass rushers and can step up in the pocket and extends the play. He looks to throw first in those scenarios. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, he can pick up first downs with his legs. I think his athleticism transfers over to the field in a very functional way. Was productive as a Junior and played on Brentwood Academy team that struggled to protect him at times. In watching the majority of his games, George MacIntyre was the reason they were in those games.”

MacIntyre has already active as a peer recruiter for the Vols over the last month, as he has connected with multiple high level prospects of late, including a recent stop in Las Vegas, where he spent time with top-75 offensive tackle Jaelyne Matthews.
“Jaelyne is a great guy,” MacIntyre said. “I felt like we built a good relationship just through texting, then I finally got to meet him in-person, and I am fired up about him. We didn’t do a ton of football drills, but you can tell he has a ton of potential. He has an athletic body for his size for sure. It was big talking to him. I think he loves Tennessee, and obviously, we love him.”
The newly minted five-star quarterback is expected back on campus multiple times during the spring, as Tennessee will start spring practice and host multiple recruits starting in mid-March.
