Vols' DL signee Isaiah Campbell earns 5-star status in final On300 rankings
Isaiah Campbell was a top-40 prospect for the majority of the 2025 cycle, but after another strong campaign at Southern High School (N.C.), the coveted defender has now earned five-star status in the final On300 rankings for the cycle.
Campbell comes in at No.30 overall and is rated as the No.2 defensive lineman for the 2025 class, according to the newest On300 update.
Campbell’s bump comes after a standout season on the gridiron. The 6-3.5, 265-pound defender recorded 90 total tackles, including 24 tackles for loss, and 12 sacks.
One’s Director of Scouting and Rankings, Charles Power, has been high on Campbell for sometime. He gave an excellent review of Campbell when he committed to the Vols.

“Isaiah Campbell is one of the most athletic defensive linemen in the 2025 cycle,” Power told Volquest at the time. “He just has outstanding play speed and twitch and first-step quickness. You see that show up on Friday nights with consistency. He is one of the top interior pass rushers in this cycle. He makes a ton of plays behind the line of scrimmage. Moves at a different speed than a lot of top defensive-line prospects. He has good length and a big frame. I think he has the frame to add a bunch more weight once he gets into the Tennessee strength and conditioning program. I think where he ends up from a size perspective might dictate how he will be used positionally. I think he is likely a best fit as a pass-rushing three technique that can create a lot of mismatches on passing downs and use his speed and quickness to shoot gaps and make plays beyond the line of scrimmage. I think the effort level is outstanding. You see him consistently show up and make plays. I think the physicality is there as well. A good bit of versatility. Could even see a scenario where he plays as a big defensive end at times. Big recruiting win for Tennessee. A guy that we have been high on the whole cycle and has been inside the top 50 the whole time.”
Campbell is an early enrollee at Tennessee and has got his career on Rocky Top started after choosing the Vols over North Carolina and Clemson late in the cycle. Campbell joins Charles House, Ethan Utley, Mariyon Dye, Jayden Loftin, and Christian Gass as four-star defenders along the front line
