Vysen Lang details decision to play on Rocky Top
Offensive lineman Vysen Lang is officially off the board by committing to Tennessee. The 6-foot-4, 325-pound interior offensive lineman out of Pike Road (Ala.) chose the Vols over Auburn, LSU and Texas.
Before announcing his decision in front of family, friends and classmates, Volquest caught up with Lang.
He had not visited Austin this season, so Texas never seemed real but he has taken in three games on the Plains and two in Baton Rouge and Knoxville.
Lang has gotten tight with the Vol staff and just felt most comfortable on Rocky Top.
“I love what coach Heupel is doing at Tennessee. The direction of the program stands out and coach Heupel already has Tennessee up to No. 1 in the nation. I like the players they have and I have a strong relationship with the staff too.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Tennessee a 89.8% chance of landing the three-star offensive lineman. Saturday’s dramatic win over No.3 Alabama won’t hurt that percentage.
Lang currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $9.1k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Tennessee currently sports the 14th-highest recruiting class in the country for the 2023 cycle. The Vols have 22 commits, but had only two offensive linemen. Lang is getting looks at both offensive tackle and guard at the next level.
