The high school football season is well underway, and Tennessee Vols QB commitment George MacIntyre has helped Brentwood Academy get out to a 3-2 start to the 2024 campaign. MacIntyre has made some impressive throws to start the season and recently posted his mid-season highlights on his HUDL page which you can see below.

MacIntyre has widely been viewed as an elite quarterback prospect, and despite working under center more this season with a new Head Coach at Brentwood Academy, he has still impressed with his natural ability.

MacIntyre is currently rated as On3’s No.87 overall prospect and his ceiling is viewed highly by On3’s Director of Scouting and Recruiting Charles Power.

“This is a guy who is sound mechanically, throws a really tight ball and can deliver it to different areas of the field with velocity and touch,” Power told Volquest in January at the time of MacIntyre’s commitment to the Vols. “We really like the way he layers his passes. He can change speeds on the ball and push the ball down the field. In large part due to his mechanics, can hit some tight windows in the middle of the field as well. You watch his film and there is a lot of high level throws and he has a variety of throws in his bags. I think he is a very good functional athlete at the position for his height. He moves well in the pocket and you see him make defenders miss. He avoids pass rushers and can step up in the pocket and extends the play. He looks to throw first in those scenarios. Whenever the opportunity presents itself, he can pick up first downs with his legs. I think his athleticism transfers over to the field in a very functional way. Was productive as a Junior and played on Brentwood Academy team that struggled to protect him at times. In watching the majority of his games, George MacIntyre was the reason they were in those games.”

MacIntyre has been impressed by, but is not surprised with Tennessee’s 4-0 start to the season.

“Anyone who has been around this program isn’t surprised by the start,” he told Volquest earlier in the week. “Something special is building in Knoxville, and I can’t wait to be a part of it!”
