Where Tennessee ranks in national polls following series-loss to Vanderbilt

The past five weeks have not been pretty for the Tennessee baseball program. Following this weekend’s series-loss to Vanderbilt, the Vols have now dropped four-straight rubber matches and four-straight weekend series. Tennessee has also lost five of the past six Southeastern Conference series. UT is now 2-5 in rubber games this spring.
Tennessee (39-13, 15-12 SEC) dropped two spots down to No. 17 in the latest D1 Baseball poll. That’s the rankings Volquest follows, as well as ESPN broadcasts. The Vols are one of nine teams from the Southeastern Conference to crack the top-25.
LSU moved up two spots to No. 1 in the latest poll and is followed by Florida State, Texas, North Carolina and Oregon in the top-five. Auburn, Oregon State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt and Georgia conclude the top-10 for D1 Baseball.
The Vols travel to Fayetteville to take on the Razorbacks (41-11, 18-9 SEC) this weekend to conclude the regular season of play. The Hogs are second in the SEC standings while Tennessee is tied for seventh.
