The Texas A&M Aggies’ 2023 football recruiting class has five pledges and is currently ranked as the No. 22 haul in the country. We’ve provided background info on each commit below (in chronological order from the newest pledge to the oldest) and will update as the cycle continues.

Katy (Tex.) Paetow three-star linebacker Daymion Sanford

The most recent commit in the Aggies’ class, Sanford saw his recruitment take off on the camp circuit in June, landing offers from Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU and Texas. The rising prospect had a breakout junior season in which he recorded 91 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and 13 sacks, earning Texas District 10-5A D-I Defensive Co-MVP honors and helping lead Paetow to a 15-1 record and the 5A D-I state title. He ranks as the No. 622 prospect and No. 53 linebacker in the country per the On3 Consensus.

Dallas (Tex.) South Oak Cliff four-star cornerback Jayvon Thomas

Height: 5-foot-11

Weight: 170lbs

Thomas committed to Texas A&M over offers from LSU, Texas and Notre Dame soon after a visit in April that set the bar high for him. As a junior, Thomas recorded 30 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and two passes deflected in seven games, helping South Oak Cliff to a historic state championship. He contributed on the offensive side of the ball as well, rushing for 75 yards and one touchdown. Thomas ranks as the No. 60 prospect and No. 6 cornerback in the country per the On3 Consensus.

La Grange (Tex.) High four-star cornerback Bravion Rogers

Height: 6-foot

Weight: 175lbs

The highest-rated commit in the Aggies’ class to date, Rogers committed in April within two weeks of landing an offer from Texas A&M. Rogers committed to the Aggies over offers from the likes of Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Georgia and more. The four-star projects to play a versatile role in the Aggies’ secondary. As a junior, Rogers rushed for over 1,000 yards and 15 touchdowns, adding 336 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver. Defensively, he recorded 27 tackles, six passes defended, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown. He ranks as the No. 48 prospect and No. 4 cornerback in the country per the On3 Consensus.

Southlake (Tex.) Caroll punter Tyler White

White committed to Texas A&M soon after landing an offer from the Aggies while in town for the Maroon & White Game in April. As a junior, he averaged 42.3 yards per punt and connected on 10-of-12 field goal tries as well as 79-of-81 extra point attempts. He was named a MaxPreps Second-Team Junior All-American and was selected to the All-American Bowl. White will also play baseball at Texas A&M.

Spring Branch (Tex.) Smithson Valley three-star offensive tackle Colton Thomasson

Height: 6-foot-8

Weight: 347lbs

The massive offensive lineman from Spring Branch (Tex.) Smithson Valley emerged as a name to know early in his high school career, but after a near-100lb weight loss, saw his recruitment take off ahead of his junior season. Thomasson committed to the Aggies in July 2021, a little over a month after landing an offer. As a junior, Thomasson was a Texas 27-6A unanimous first-team all-district selection as a junior and a Class 6A first-team all-state selection by the Texas Sportswriters Association. The three-star also throws shot put and discuss and posted a 43-0.75 shot put and a 142-9 discus as a sophomore. Thomasson ranks as the No. 441 prospect and No. 33 interior offensive lineman in the On3 Consensus, though he could play as an offensive tackle at the next level as well.
