The Texas Longhorns’ 2022 football season included 12 games. It just so happens that December 25 marks the beginning of the 12 days of Christmas.
To help celebrate, Inside Texas presents the top play from each game in the Longhorns’ 8-4 campaign.
Louisiana-Monroe

D’Shawn Jamison began the season with his fifth career interception. His pick-six helped the Longhorns cruise to an easy win over the Warhawks.
Alabama

This game was a thriller that came down to the wire. Some of the combined work from Quinn Ewers and Xavier Worthy hinted at what could be an extremely bright future.
UTSA

Bijan Robinson doesn’t have a ton of long, long runs in his career, but this scamper against the Roadrunners was one of them. It helped Texas overcome a slow start against UTSA and pull away from Jeff Traylor’s team.
Texas Tech

Hudson Card was a capable stand-in for Ewers in No. 3’s injury absence, and helped Texas navigate a handful of games. Though Texas fell in overtime to the Red Raiders, Card’s long toss to Worthy was an excellent play that saw him avoid pressure, keep his eyes downfield, and deliver a strike for a score.
West Virginia

Some trickery from Steve Sarkisian saw Worthy find Ja’Tavion Sanders for a touchdown that boosted Texas to an easy win over the Mountaineers.

Oklahoma
Why pick just one?
Iowa State

Jaylan Ford’s standout season included this critical fumble recovery that helped the Longhorns seal a hard-fought victory over the Cyclones.
Oklahoma State

Roschon Johnson’s long run was one of his best, but not the best from his 2022 campaign.
Kansas State

Keondre Coburn’s sack-fumble of Adrian Martinez, plus another Ford fumble recovery, helped the Longhorns leave Manhattan, Kan. with their biggest road win of the season.
TCU

There were not many highlights for the Longhorns in this contest, but Jahdae Barron’s scoop-and-score highlighted an impressive season for the junior defensive back.
Kansas

Sometimes, words fail to do a play justice. This is one of those plays from Robinson, whose three-year career was capped with the Doak Walker Award.
Baylor

Johnson saved one of his best plays for last with his hurdle of a Bear defender on the way to the end zone. Also worth noting on this play is Christian Jones forcibly escorting a Baylor player out of the play.
