12 Texas commits included in latest 2023 On300
Twelve members of the Texas Longhorns’ No. 6-ranked 2023 recruiting class were included in the recently updated 2023 On300, led by On3’s No. 1 overall prospect and Five-Star Plus+ New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman quarterback Arch Manning.

Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater running back Cedric Baxter joined Manning in the ranks of On3 five-stars, checking in as the No. 24 overall prospect and the No. 1 running back in the On300.
Other top 100 players in the updated rankings included New Iberia (La.) Westgate safety Derek Williams at No. 32, Dallas (Texas) South Oak Cliff cornerback Malik Muhammad at No. 38, Teague (Texas) LB/EDGE Derion Gullette at No. 61, DeSoto (Texas) wide receiver Johntay Cook II at No. 71, Austin (Texas) Westlake EDGE Colton Vasek at No. 79, Aldine (Texas) Eisenhower wide receiver Ryan Niblett at No. 95, and Harker Heights (Texas) offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman at No. 98.
The rest of the Longhorns in the On300 were Fort Worth (Texas) North Crowley linebacker S’Maje Burrell, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic defensive lineman Sydir Mitchell, and newly-minted On300 member Melissa (Texas) offensive lineman Trevor Goosby.
When looking at On3’s rankings in the state of Texas, the Longhorns have commits from two of the top 10 players in the Lone Star State in Muhammad and Gullette. Cook, Vasek, Niblett, Chatman, and Burrell were within the top 25 in-state in On3’s rankings.

Big movers in latest rankings
In Louisiana, the Longhorns have verbal pledges from Manning, the Pelican State’s No. 1 prospect, and Williams, On3’s No. 4 prospect from across the Sabine River.
Baxter was ranked as the No. 5 player in the always-loaded state of Florida. Mitchell checked in as the No. 4 player in New Jersey.
Texas currently trails Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and LSU in the On3 Consensus Team Rankings. Rounding out the top 10 behind the Longhorns are Oklahoma, Florida, Clemson, and Miami.
