2025 EDGE Daeshon Morgan is a name to know
2025 Austin (Texas) Vandegrift EDGE Daeshon Morgan was one of the more intriguing prospects to visit the Longhorns for their recent junior day. He arrived with only an offer from Cal, and added a second scholarship from North Texas in recent days. While he didn’t leave his visit to the 40 Acres with an offer from the Longhorns, he certainly is a candidate to receive one in the future.

A scholarship from Texas is one the 6-foot-3, 256-pound Morgan hopes to receive in his recruitment.
“I personally didn’t talk about getting offered yet, but all I know is I’ve got to keep working and that’ll come when God destines it to,” Morgan said.
Morgan recorded 34 tackles for the Vipers in 2023 with 15.0 for loss and 6.0 sacks. He’s originally from Corpus Christi and moved to Austin just a few years ago. He showed up on the 40 Acres wearing a Four Points Rugby Club jacket. While he’s on the gridiron and not the pitch these days, he used to play 8-man and flanker for FPRC. Those positions have similarities to outside linebacker and fullback in American football.
The rugby and football toughness is seen in his film.
Morgan had positive reviews of the visit.
“Everything was beautiful,” Morgan said. “I got to meet some new coaches, get in tune with the program. I got to see the facilities. The food was great. I saw that they give shakes after every workout, and I’m like ‘hold on, I might need to come over here.’ It was such a big blessing, it was amazing.”

He even had quality time with Texas defensive coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski.
“Kwiatkowski was really cool,” Morgan said. “Everybody’s loving there and I already felt the family vibe there when I came through.”
Morgan’s recruitment is about to get going. North Texas just offered. He wants to see TCU and Texas Tech in the coming weeks. Stanford has also been in touch, but the Austin transplant via Corpus Christi sees something in Texas’ capital city.
“Nothing really beats Austin, Texas,” Morgan said.
He’d add, “It would mean a lot being able to stay close to my family, make sure everybody is taken care of, and get to see my little sister grow.”
