2025 four-star TE Emaree Winston commits to Texas
After 2025 Calhoun (Ga.) tight end Emaree Winston first watched the Longhorns play in October, he had a really good idea of where he’d be playing college ball. Today, the four-star committed to the Longhorns over Ohio State and UCF.

“Let’s play some SEC Ball,” Winston told Inside Texas. “Hook’Em!!”
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Peach State product tripped to Dallas for the Texas-OU bash, then visited Austin weeks later with his parents for the Texas-BYU game. He also took trips to Columbus to see the Buckeyes a handful of times. But ultimately it was with the Longhorns where he found the most comfortability.
One big help came from Texas tight end Ja’Tavion Sanders. The UT record-setting junior’s performance in 2023 really caught Winston’s attention. Plus, Sanders and Winston have built a friendship over the last three months. They text and talk regularly, and Winston views himself as an adequate replacement for the former five-star athlete likely headed to the NFL in April.
Winston holds 39 offers including Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Colorado, Utah, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami, Missouri, Michigan State, USC, NC State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Virginia Tech, and Wisconsin.
