“First off, I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play this game and have the chance to play at the next level,” Williams wrote. “The University of Texas has been nothing but great to me and I can’t thank them enough, but I have made the decision to decommit from The University of Texas. My recruitment is officially reopened.”
Williams had recently set visit plans for TCU and Florida.
In January, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound three-star chose the Longhorns over 25+ offers including Notre Dame, Oregon, Nebraska, Auburn, TCU, Houston, and others.
Williams was ranked as the No. 501 overall prospect, the No. 51 linebacker, and the No. 81 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
