2026 DL Corey Wells commits to Texas
The Texas Longhorns’ first official visit weekend has brought yet ANOTHER commitment. 2026 Petal (Miss.) DT Corey Wells has committed to Texas, he told IT’s Justin Wells.

“Oh yeah. Texas—I love it here. I’m not going to lie. It’s big in Texas,” Wells said after his official visit. “I love the players. I love the coaches. The coaching I’ll get is going to be really good.”
Wells mentioned Sunday he planned to commit soon. It was apparent that the Longhorns had made a big impact thanks to their sell regarding development.
“I’ll get developed here. I know they will take real good care of me, and I’ll have a chance to make it to that next level—the NFL. That is where I want to be,” Wells said.

Wells chose Texas over Auburn and Ole Miss. He’s ranked as the No. 291 overall prospect, the No. 28 defensive lineman, and the No. 12 player in Mississippi in the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Wells as the No. 43 defensive lineman and the No. 18 player in Mississippi.
