Wright has seen Texas on a number of occasions, including for the 2024 and 2025 junior days, multiple 2024 games, and at the end of summer event in Austin prior to the 2024 season. At 6-foot-8 and 310 pounds, Wright is the first piece of the O-line puzzle for the 2026 class.
“They was the first to recruit me,” Wright told Inside Texas. “You got to stay loyal to that. My family is excited. I’m going to Texas. It really is a great place.”
Wright chose Texas over Texas Tech, Florida, Memphis, Houston, Arizona, Tulane, Kansas State, Arizona State, Stanford, Arkansas, Michigan, TCU, SMU, Baylor, UTSA, San Diego State, Pitt, Duke, Texas State, UTEP, Tulsa, and others.
Between the development, the NFL draft, and the on-field success, what was it that stood out most with the Longhorns program?

“They have proof of development,” Wright explained. “They turned Trevor Goosby, who wasn’t a highly-rated recruit, into the highest graded offensive tackle in the SEC. I’m ready to work with (Steve) Sarkisian and (Kyle) Flood.”
Wright comes from a sports family. His father played football at Oklahoma State, so he’s been around the sport all of his life. Will this be the end of his recruitment?
“Of course,” Wright said with conviction. “What’s the point of committing if you’re not going to honor it? You gotta stay loyal.”
