2026 Texas commit Chris Stewart talks LSU visit, next Austin trip
When 2026 Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek four-star Chris Stewart committed to Texas earlier last summer, he knew where he wanted to be. But that didn’t change his desire to enjoy college football games in other stadiums along the way.
The 6-foot-0, 175-pound wide receiver took an unofficial visit to Baton Rouge for the Alabama-LSU game on Saturday. He added an offer from Brian Kelly and the LSU staff last week.
“Death Valley was rocking in the beginning,” Stewart told Inside Texas. “Place was wild.”
By the second half, Death Valley was more like a funeral after getting blown out by the Crimson Tide.
Stewart still hears from a number of programs, but his connection to Texas is solid and his bond with Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian and WR coach Chris Jackson is tight.
“Everything is good, just enjoyed the atmosphere and experience,” said Stewart. “Me and the family are supposed to be down there for the Kentucky game in two weeks. That’s the plan.”

Stewart is having a great junior campaign at Shadow Creek. In 2023, the Houston area product snagged 41 catches for 698 yards and 10 touchdowns.
During the Spring track season early in 2024, Stewart ran personal bests in the 100m (11.1), 200m (24.82), and was part of the Sharks’ 4×100 and 4×200 relay.
On3 tabs Stewart as the No. 127 overall prospect, the No. 19 wide receiver, and the No. 14 player in Texas. He’s also ranked as the No. 205 overall prospect, the No. 36 wide receiver, and the No. 23 player in Texas in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.
