A look at the Texas side of the College World Series bracket, plus game one's start time
At publication time, there is still one spot in the eight-team College World Series field yet to be filled. However, that spot is on the opposite side of the bracket from the Texas Longhorns. The Longhorn baseball program, making its 38th appearance at the College World Series, will share a four-team, double-elimination bracket with Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M in Omaha, Neb.

Texas will face the Fighting Irish in their first game at Charles Schwab Field Omaha on Friday night at 6 p.m. Central.
“I’m just very proud of our team and how they’ve stuck together through a couple of really tough weekends,” Texas head coach David Pierce said Monday morning after defeating ECU 11-1 in game three of the Greenville super regional. “They’ve just kind of started to put it together, continue to believe in each other, and just competed well.”
Familiar faces will join the Longhorns on their side of the eight-team bracket at the “Greatest Show on Dirt.” The Longhorns did not face Notre Dame this season, but they did play Oklahoma four times this year. Texas won two-of-three in April at Globe Life Field, but lost to the Sooners, 8-1, in the Big 12 tournament title game on May 29.
The Aggies traveled to UFCU Disch-Falk Field on March 29 to renew a longstanding rivalry. Texas A&M took the mid-week contest 12-9 after a shaky performance from the Longhorn bullpen.
In Omaha, however, all bets are off. Plenty has changed for Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma in the past few weeks. The Irish, Longhorns, and Sooners took two-of-three away from home in their super regionals, while Texas A&M was able to succeed in familiar territory at Blue Bell Park in College Station.
