AUSTIN -- Texas' out of state recruiting campaign in the 2019 class continues, once again in California.
2019 Lakewood (CA) Mayfair 4-star safety Chris Adimora committed to Texas today. Adimora had competing offers from Boise State, UCLA, Nebraska, Oregon, USC, and Michigan, among others.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder visited the 40 Acres in the Spring and was instantly blown away. After UT took BJ Foster, DeMarvion Overshown, and Caden Sterns last cycle, safety coach Craig Naivar became enamored with Adimora, who fits the DBU moniker; athletic, versatile, and head hunts. He's a violent hitter with plus+ cover skills.
Excerpt from the Recruiting Notebook (Ian Boyd)
How he fits at Texas: Adimora is explosive downhill and a very willing hitter who’s going to end up at 6-foot-2, 205 or better in college. He reminds of DeShon Elliott with his sticky fingers in coverage and willingness to hit and hit high. In base D he’d be a boundary safety but he’s the kind of guy that projects into a big, skilled athlete that can play around the line of scrimmage in a dime package. -
