In the recently updated 2024 On3 Consensus prospect rankings, one of the Texas Longhorns’ two commitments in the class of 2024 was rated as one of the top 25 prospects in the country. Daingerfield (Texas) athlete and On3 Consensus four-star Aeryn Hampton checked in as the No. 24 overall prospect in the rankings.

Hampton, who committed to Texas on February 14, is ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver in the country and the No. 4 prospect in Texas, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

His fellow 2024 Texas commit, Aledo defensive back Jaden Allen, is not ranked by either the On3 Consensus or by On3’s own rankings. Allen committed to Texas on December 29, 2021.

The Longhorns’ two-man class is currently unranked in the 2024 Consensus team recruiting rankings.

Hampton currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $42,000, ranked No. 76 among high school football athletes. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time. His nine-week NIL growth is over $35,000.

The No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 Consensus was Chandler (Ariz.) quarterback Dylan Raiola, who received a five-star rating. Fellow Consensus 2024 five-stars included Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy cornerback Desmond Ricks, Buford (Ga.) safety KJ Bolden, Miami (Fla.) Central wide receiver Joshisa Trader, and Roswell (Ga.) Johns Creek defensive lineman T.A. Cunningham.

Raiola, Bolden, and Cunningham all hold offers from Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns

Several prospects from the Lone Star State were included in the rankings, including top 100 prospects in Duncanville linebacker Colin Simmons, Temple Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson, Willis quarterback DJ Lagway, Dallas South Oak Cliff athlete Jamyri Cauley, Allen EDGE Zina Umeozulu, DeSoto cornerback Mario Buford, Melissa defensive lineman Nigel Smith, Tyler High running back Derrick McFall, Waco Connally cornerback Kobe Black, Klein Forest wide receiver Jelani Watkins, Pearland Shadow Creek safety Maurice Williams, Lancaster defensive back Corian Gipson, and Copperas Cove offensive tackle Michael Uini.

Every prospect listed above save for Lagway, Buford, Watkins, Williams, and Uini have offers from Texas. In total, 37 prospects from Texas are currently ranked in the On3 Consensus.
