Alabama transfer Jahleel Billingsley picks Texas
The Portal giveth, and the Portal take away. This time, it gave Texas former Alabama four-star tight end Jahleel Billingsley today.
The 6-foot-4, 230-pounder from Phillips Academy in Chicago, IL, recently entered the NCAA transfer portal after three seasons in Alabama.
While in Tuscaloosa, Billingsley tallied 559 yards receiving and six touchdowns on 39 catches and was named to the John Mackey Award Watch List, given annually to the nation’s top collegiate tight end.

He was the first player from Illinois signed by the Crimson Tide since 1997, after being coached by Troy McAllister at Phillips Academy. He chose Alabama over Auburn, Florida, LSU, Michigan, and Ohio State in the Class of 2019.
Texas lost tight end Jared Wiley to the portal last month, so adding Billingsley fills a spot. He joins Gunnar Helm, Juan Davis, Jatavion Sanders, and Brayden Liebrock in Jeff Banks’ tight end room in Austin.
