Alabama WR Isaiah Bond commits to Texas
Alabama loses another one to Texas. Former Crimson Tide receiver Isaiah Bond, who was the first Bama player to enter the transfer portal following Nick Saban‘s retirement, has committed to Texas following a weekend visit to Austin. Bond led the Crimson Tide in catches with 68 and was second in receiving yards with 668 in 2023.

The Longhorns are familiar with Bond. Not only did Steve Sarkisian offer Bond when he was a 2022 prospect at Buford (Ga.), but Bond had one catch for 34 yards plus a two-point conversion reception against Texas during the Longhorns’ 34-24 win in Tuscaloosa on September 9, 2023.
Bond didn’t tally a 100-yard game in 2023 but he did have five games with at least 75 yards and recorded a reception in all 14 of the Crimson Tide’s contests. He hauled in touchdowns versus Tennessee, Middle Tennessee State, Texas A&M, and Auburn, with his catch versus the Tigers serving as the 31-yard game-winner that capped a thrilling Iron Bowl victory.
Bond appeared in all 13 of Alabama’s games during his freshman season in 2022. He had 17 receptions for 220 yards and one touchdown.
