Aledo's Jaden Allen begins Texas' 2024 class
Every recruiting class has to start somewhere. Steve Sarkisian’s 2024 class started with a familiar place with a familiar name. Aledo (Texas) defensive back Jaden Allen, younger brother of 2022 Texas signee Bryan Allen Jr., committed to the Longhorns on Wednesday afternoon.
Allen had offers from Illinois State, Jackson State, LSU, Mississippi State, and USC.
“It’s home,” Allen told Inside Texas. “Just being around and getting to go through a little bit of the recruiting process, the whole program just showed a lot of love. And they’re building something special I want to be a part of. My big bro going there is just extra.”
Allen registered 28 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss for the Bearcats along with two interceptions in 2021. He played on varsity for AHS during his freshman season, registering one interception according to MaxPreps.
During the 2021 track season his freshman year, Allen recorded a personal best 11.75 in the 100m during a junior varsity meet.
Evaluation from Hudson Standish
Allen already has 29 high level varsity starts at corner for one of the blue bloods in Texas high school football. Jaden plays with the same intensity as his older brother albeit in a much smaller frame.

Strengths: Extremely cerebral corner that is always in the correct position. Showed an ability throughout his freshman year state title run to make plays on the ball in contested catch situations. Very good feet and reactive quickness. Much better defending the run/screen game than expected based on his size. Plays with an apparent chip on his shoulder.
Areas for Improvement/Concern: Has shown consistent struggles with bigger receivers. Plays a ton of soft coverage for one of the most dominant pound-for-pound teams in the state each year.
Allen begins Texas’ 2024 class. He joins 2023 Arlington (Texas) Seguin defensive back Jamel Johnson as a defensive back who started his respective Longhorn recruiting class.
