You may be asking yourself, “wait, didn’t the Longhorns just dismantle the Gators by the score of 49-17 in a game that wasn’t as close as the score indicates?” Yes, they did, but that doesn’t matter for a couple of reasons.
First, both Ffrench and Charles are from Florida. Ffrench is in Jacksonville, only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Gainesville while Charles is three hours and fifteen minutes away in Port Charlotte.
Second, it’s the NIL era. To borrow a quote from Hector Barbosa, “the code is more like ‘guidelines’ than actual ‘rules’.” Pirating and the NIL era are fairly analogous.
You might also ask yourself, “isn’t third-year head coach Billy Napier on the hot seat?” Yes, and no. He’s been given a reprieve until next year per a statement from Florida AD Scott Stricklin.

This is perhaps not coincidental to Florida’s massive visit weekend for its upcoming game against LSU.
Florida’s current recruiting class ranks No. 33 in the country, but they only have 12 commits. That’s good or bad depending on how the Gators finish.
As for the Longhorns, despite his visit being an official, our sources don’t indicate a ton on Ffrench, who committed to Texas after a thorough process after his de-commitment from Alabama following the retirement of Nick Saban.

Charles is a bit different. Texas flipped him from Florida State in September after he originally committed to the Seminoles in late June. Sources have known he’s a prospect that must be recruited through the whistle. However, there’s no real reason for concern just yet.
