As Georgia heads to Austin, here are the players that were once on the Texas radar
Over the past few years, it’s become more common for the Longhorns and the Bulldogs to bump into each other on the recruiting trail. Part of that has to do with Georgia deciding to creep into Texas, but now the Longhorns are shifting their gaze closer and closer to Athens in the Southeast.

Inside Texas takes a look at the Georgia roster and the players that were once Texas recruiting targets before Saturday’s big game in Austin.
Smael Mondon Jr., LB, Dallas (Ga.) Paulding County
The Longhorns offered the class of 2021 star who is reportedly out this weekend.
Joenel Aguero, S, Danvers (Mass.) Saint John’s Preparatory
Texas offered the 5-foot-11.5, 200-pounder and the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 3 safety in the 2023 class. But the Longhorns were never really in it.
Earnest Greene, OL, Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco
Greene took an official visit to Texas but the Bulldogs won out for the California product over Ohio State and Alabama. He’ll be starting at left tackle for the Bulldogs.
Jalon Walker, LB, Salisbury (N.C.)
Texas offered but this one came down to the Dawgs and the Tar Heels.
Julian Humphrey, CB, Houston (Texas) Clear Lake
The Longhorns liked the South Houston prospect, but never offered.
Justin Williams, LB, Conroe (Texas) Oak Ridge
Texas loved the Five-Star Plus+ linebacker as former UT assistant coach Jeff Choate recruited Williams up until NSD.
Ondre Evans, DB, Franklin (Tenn.) Christ Presbyterian Academy
Blake Gideon really liked Evans. After his LSU de-commitment, however, it was all Dawgs.
Damon Wilson, LB, Nokomis (Fla.) Venice
Texas was a hat on the table.
Samuel M’Pemba, EDGE, IMG Academy
A Texas offer but nothing more.
Gabe Harris, EDGE, IMG Academy
What applied to M’Pemba applies to Harris.
Jordan Hall, DT, Jacksonville (Fla.) Westside
Another instance where the Longhorns were unable to get a top prospect to leave the southeast.
Michael Uini, OL, Kempner (Texas) Copperas Cove
Texas offered and pursued the Cen-Tex product, but pulled back at the beginning of his senior season.

Dillon Bell, WR, Houston (Texas) The Kinkaid School
The speedy Houston area athlete always had eyes on Georgia. They offered both Dillon and his older brother Micah Bell, who is now at Vanderbilt.
Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, DL, Conore (Texas) Oak Ridge
Texas loved the upside with the 6-foot-4, 275-pounder and teammate of Justin Williams. But they both chose Athens eventually.
Jaden Reddell, TE, Raymore (Mo.) Raymore-Peculiar
One of a number of tight end offers issued by Jeff Banks.
Colton Heinrich, TE, Coral Springs (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons
Showed some interest and made his way to campus in the spring of 2023 but picked the Bulldogs over a number of SEC schools.
Nyier Daniels, OL, Newark (N.J.) Bergen Catholic
Kyle Flood pushed hard for the product from his neck of the woods but UGA won out for this one.
Daniel Calhoun, OL, Marietta (Ga.) Walton
This was a player NOT from Flood’s neck of the woods that Texas pushed for, but the result was the same as Daniels.
Ellis Robinson IV, DB, IMG Academy
Texas failed to gain much, if any, traction with the New Haven, Conn. product.
KJ Bolden, S, Buford (Ga.)
A star in the making for Georgia, Texas was unable to get him on campus.

Drew Miller, P, Mediapolis (Iowa)
What a head to head win for Georgia. Texas still found a quality punter with Michael Kern.
