Score another one for the Texas Longhorns who suddenly have a tidal wave of recruiting momentum. Atascocita three-star offensive lineman Nate Kibble is offensive line coach Kyle Flood’s most recent pledge.

Kibble, long thought to be a lean to Texas A&M, visited Texas over the weekend and decided to cast his lot with the Horns instead. He took an official visit to Texas A&M for the weekend of June 9-11.

Kibble, who is 6-foot-3, 315 pounds, is what Flood likes to describe as a “large human,” a term he uses to denote the type of players he likes to recruit for the Longhorn O-line.

Kibble follows in a long line of talented Atascocita offensive linemen. Sam Cosmi, who played at Texas, and Kenyon Green, who played at Texas A&M, are both now in the NFL.

Along with Texas and Texas A&M, Kibble also considered LSU and TCU. He becomes the first OL pledge of the 2024 class for the Longhorns.

Texas has added five pledges to its recruiting class in the last week, including nationally rated running backs Christian Clark and Jerrick Gibson of Arizona and Florida, respectively, as well as wide receiver Freddie Dubose Jr. of Smithson Valley and cornerback Santana Wilson of Arizona.

With his athletic, yet mauling style of play, Kibble projects best to guard. Kibble is ranked as the No. 485 overall prospect, the No. 35 interior offensive lineman, and the No. 82 prospect in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranks Kibble as the No. 38 interior offensive lineman and the No. 79 prospect in Texas.

Flood is perfectly fine taking national elite prospects as he did in the 2022 class, but he’ll also trust his own evaluation on lesser rated players, similarly to 2023.
