Bijan Robinson eclipses the 1,000-yard rushing mark at Iowa State
Texas sophomore running back Bijan Robinson became only the second ball-carrier in a decade to eclipse the 1,000-yard barrier in a season today at Iowa State, joining D’Onta Foreman in 2016.
In the late first quarter against Iowa State, Bijan Robinson carried the ball for six yards to gain exactly enough yards for 1,000 rushing yards on the season.

Robinson began the day with 967 yards rushing, good for eighth in the FBS in 2021. In addition to leading the Big 12 conference with 14 touchdowns on the year.
Robinson has been mentioned in Heisman talks early in his second campaign after big games vs Texas Tech and Oklahoma. Bijan Robinson has 11 touchdowns on the ground in 2021, averaging 120 yards per contest. Along with three touchdown receptions and 14 total catches through the air.

The second-year tailback from Salpointe (Tucson, Ariz.) played in nine games and started six in 2020. He made the 2021 Maxwell Award and Doak Walker Award watch lists and was selected to the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year watch list.
Robinson was named 2020 Alamo Bowl MVP and set the school record for yards per carry with 8.2 per game.
Texas currently trails Iowa State 3-0 with 14:51 left in the second quarter.
