Robinson is the first Longhorn to be named a semifinalist for the honor since D’Onta Foreman in 2016. A Texas player has won the Walter Camp Award on three occasions; Ricky Williams won his in 1998, while Colt McCoy was a back to back winner in 2008 and 2009.
Robinson, a third-year player out of Tucson (Ariz.) Salpointe Catholic, has rushed for over 1000 yards in each of the last two seasons. This year he has 1158 yards and 12 touchdowns in 10 games. He also has 314 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 19 receptions.
Robinson rushed for 100 yards seven times this year, and has recorded over 100 total yards in every game this season but the Longhorns’ most recent game versus TCU.

A former On3 Consensus five-star and currently the No. 13 player in On3’s college ratings, Robinson is currently seventh all-time in school history in rushing yards with 2988. He hopes to become the seventh player in Texas history to rush for 3000 career yards, joining Ricky Williams, Cedric Benson, Earl Campbell, Jamaal Charles, Chris Gilbert, and Vince Young. Robinson needs 139 more rushing yards to pass Young and 243 to pass Gilbert.
The five finalists for the Walter Camp Award will be announced on November 30. The winner will be announced at ESPN’s College Football Awards Show on December 8.
