Former Texas running back Bijan Robinson continues to draw rave reviews for his three seasons of work on the 40 Acres and is featured prominently as a potential first-round pick in many of the NFL mock drafts that are being published and broadcast in the media.

The 2023 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held in the plaza outside of Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, on April 27–29.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL.com opined that Robinson, the Doak Walker Award winner and a unanimous All-American, will be chosen with the 29th pick of the first round by Buffalo. In that spot he would be the first running back chosen in the draft.

“I think Robinson is one of the elite players in this draft class – worthy of a Top-10 pick,” Jeremiah wrote. “However, most teams simply don’t believe in taking a running back this high, and the depth at the position in the upcoming free-agent market could impact Robinson’s value on draft day.”

Matt Miller of ESPN wrote that he expects Robinson to be the only running back taken in the first round, calling the former Longhorns star as “the total package as a running back prospect.”

“Robinson’s contact balance and vision in traffic are some of the best I’ve ever seen,” Miller said. “There are few players more talented than Robinson in this year’s class.”

Natalie Miller of USAToday’s Draft Wire concurred with Todd McShay of ESPN that Robinson would be drafted by the Eagles. McShay had him going to Philadelphia with the fifth pick (that was in mid-December when Eagles had the fifth pick, which is from New Orleans), while Miller has him at No. 10.

“This is a bit of a luxury pick for an Eagles team that is stacked at nearly every position for the next few years,” Miller wrote. “Robinson is undoubtedly worthy of a Top-10 selection and is every bit of the prospect Saquon Barkley was when he came out and was drafted much higher. He makes an already elite running game in Philly even more unstoppable with this selection.”

Mike Renner of Pro Football Focus has Robinson going to Detroit as the 18th pick.

“Robinson behind that offensive line, with Ben Johnson returning as offensive coordinator and Jamaal Williams being a free agent, there’s a lot to like about this pairing.” Renner said. “He will be used creatively there, I think his skills will be maximized, and I think it would take that offense to a level that – even with Jared Goff could get you to a Super Bowl.”

Robinson led the nation in tandem yards with 1,894 (1,580 rushing, 314 receiving) and was second in total touchdowns (20) while averaging a Big 12-best 131.7 rushing yards and 157.83 all-purpose yards per game.

He had nine 100-yard rushing games in his last 10 outings, including a pair of 200-yard efforts, and rushed for a touchdown in 10 of 12 games this year.
