Williams played three years at Texas, seeing starting reps in his third and final season. The giant right tackle started 15 games and played nearly 1,000 snaps as a core piece of one of the nation’s best offensive lines. Williams’ best game as a Longhorn came against Arkansas, where he played 73 snaps and allowed just one pressure on quarterback Quinn Ewers

Williams was a part of the historic 2022 class of Texas offensive linemen, with head coach Steve Sarkisian adding seven total players on the offensive line, six from Texas, including fellow draft prospect Kelvin Banks Jr. and the entirety of the expected 2025 interior offensive line. Williams was a top-100 recruit and On3’s seventh-best offensive tackle in the class.

Williams spent his first two seasons at Texas learning behind a future NFL draftee Christian Jones, learning the ropes as a right tackle. Williams entered Austin at 364 pounds, a behemoth-sized tackle that needed refinement in his weight and technique. Still weighing north of 360 pounds, Williams started a sole game in his second year at Texas, filling in for an injured Jones against Kansas State.

By the end of the offseason in 2024, Williams had slimmed down to 335 pounds and was leaner, faster and more skilled at the position. Instead of reaching for a transfer, Sarkisian entrusted Williams to anchor the right side of the line. Williams earned his money this weekend for his skill as a run blocker, with RB Jaydon Blue averaging 5.1 yards per carry when running behind the bulky RT.
