Making his second career start in Texas’ season-opening win over Colorado State, Williams was graded the highest of UT’s offensive linemen and allowed no sacks and no quarterback pressures against the Rams in the 52-0 victory. The Duncanville, Texas, native and the offensive line paved the way for 545 total yards of offensive, including 190 rushing and 355 passing. QB Quinn Ewers threw three touchdown passes behind the line’s play, while three players rushed for a touchdown, including freshmen Jerrick Gibson and Arch Manning.

In all, five players scored their first touchdowns as Longhorns with the support of the offensive line, when also adding in transfer wide receivers Matthew Golden, Isaiah Bond and Silas Bolden.

Williams is a third-year offensive lineman who has played in 23 total games with two starts on the Forty Acres. He was part of the 2023 Texas offensive line that was tabbed a Joe Moore Award semifinalist. He made his first career start against Kansas State in 2023 and helped the Longhorns compile 478 yards of offense, including 230 rushing yards, in the OT win against the Wildcats.

Williams and Texas head to No. 9/8 Michigan for an 11 a.m. CT kick on Saturday, Sept. 7, at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich. The game will broadcast on FOX with Gus Johnson (play-by-play), Joel Klatt (analyst) and Jenny Taft (sideline) on the call. It’ll be part of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff along with ESPN’s College GameDay in town.
