Weaver provides Sean Miller with an uber-athletic guard that drew the attention of the former Xavier coach before his Musketeers battled with Texas in the 2025 First Four.
“But it is interesting because if you start to look at the stat sheet and then you watched them in the SEC tournament, you could really tell what Weaver means to their team, and I don’t know who wouldn’t want to have that guy on their team,” Miller said. “He gives you everything. He really is, I think, a difference maker for their team.”
Weaver struggled with a hip injury that sidelined him for most of SEC play, but his return was invaluable to the Longhorns. Weaver’s presence and availability allowed Tramon Mark to move to point guard, a move that helped the Longhorns earn a spot in the field of 68.
In 20 games with six starts, Weaver averaged 6.4 points and 4.9 rebounds along with 0.8 steals. In his Texas career, Weaver has played in 54 games with 15 starts and has averaged 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds. During his freshman season at UT-Arlington, he took home WAC rookie of the year honors after averaging 9.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.9 steals per game.

Miller interacted with Weaver the day of his introductory press conference and also visited Weaver in late March.
