Clark, a true freshman from Phoenix (Ariz.) Mountain Pointe, was ranked as the No. 335 overall prospect, the No. 23 running back, and the No. 6 player in Arizona in the 2024 On3 Industry Ranking.

Clark joins CJ Baxter on the shelf for the season.

Attention turns toward Jaydon Blue, Tre Wisner, and Jerrick Gibson at running back for the 2024 Longhorns.

Blue rushed for 398 yards on 65 carries last year with three touchdowns on the ground and one receiving touchdown. Wisner was a “demon” on special teams according to Steve Sarkisian, and tallied 12 rushes for 73 yards and one score.

Sarkisian spoke on Monday about how the Longhorns might approach moving a player to running back.

“We’re looking at some different options and I think we’re looking at it creatively, whether it’s a couple of guys on the offensive side of the ball or a potential player on the defensive side of the ball. Or two, for that matter,” Sarkisian said. “We’re taking it day by day. Again, we’ve got plenty of time. We’re just trying to get a sense and feel of not only how will they play on offense at runner, but how does that impact other positions if we take a player.”

They’ll have to look for additional options now after Clark’s season ending injury.
