Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Colin Simmons and On3 four-star defensive tackle Alex January, two standout members of the Duncanville (Texas) defense and Texas commits, will be in Austin this weekend when the No. 3 Longhorns take on the No. 24 Kansas Jayhawks. Simmons and January have been mainstays at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium since each made their commitments over the summer, and both will be on the Forty Acres when their Panther teammate and 2025 On3 Industry Ranking five-star Dakorien Moore takes in his second Longhorn game of the season.

Moore is taking in this weekend’s game after he saw the Longhorns defeat Wyoming 31-10 on September 16. Moore committed to LSU on August 12, one day after the Longhorns topped the Tigers for Simmons’ pledge. The Longhorns earned January’s commitment on July 1 after he visited Texas Tech, Florida State, LSU, and Texas in the month of June.

Moore, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 9 overall prospect, No. 2 wide receiver, and No. 2 player in Texas, spoke with Inside Texas’ Gerry Hamilton about the Longhorns’ standing after his visit earlier in September.

“It was crazy lit,” said Moore. “The fans definitely stood out. They were turnt after every play. The whole environment was just different.”

Moore in three games has 15 receptions for 497 yards and six touchdowns. January has 20 tackles this year, including 3.0 for loss and one sack. Simmons has 19 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and 12 quarterback hurries this season.

Moore is one of six receivers in the top 50 of the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking with a Texas offer.
