Simmons made June official visits to Miami, Alabama, SMU, and Texas with the Longhorns receiving the final official visit. The 6-foot-2.5, 225-pounder also made a June unofficial visit to Oregon before ending summer recruiting visits with a trip to LSU the last weekend in July.
The Longhorns have taken an all hands on deck approach to recruiting Simmons. Steve Sarkisian and Jeff Banks have played prominent roles, along with the entire defensive staff.
