Texas linebacker Derion Gullette plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Gullette, who was suited up on the sidelines for the Texas Longhorns’ loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship, has played in five games in his Texas career.

Gullette did not see action in 2023 as he was recovering from a knee injury suffered during his high school career. In 2024, he has played in five games. He played versus Colorado State, UTSA, ULM, Oklahoma, and in the first matchup against Georgia.

Gullette has two career tackles.

A member of the Longhorns’ class of 2023 out of Teague High School but from Marlin, Gullette was ranked as the No. 140 overall prospect, the No. 13 linebacker, and the No. 28 player in the state of Texas in the 2023 On3 Industry Ranking. On3 ranked Gullette as the No. 82 overall prospect, the No. 7 linebacker, and the No. 17 player in the state of Texas. Linebackers from the 2023 class still on the 40 Acres include Anthony Hill, Tausili Akana, and Liona Lefau.
