Details on Texas commit K.J. Lacey's day one performance at the Elite 11 Finals
2025 Saraland (Ala.) quarterback and Texas commit K.J. Lacey is in Los Angeles competing with some of the best quarterbacks in the country at the Elite 11 Finals and is looking to make a name for himself, just like others did at the event in years past.

“Ready to learn a whole lot from the coaches. Also being able to be a part of the Elite 11 is just still really cool to me. Been watching since the Trevor Lawrence and the Justin Fields episodes of it on YouTube,” Lacey told On3’s Steve Wiltfong earlier this week.
Day one was yesterday. Lacey, along with 19 other top quarterbacks, were put through drills and competitions. Lacey even had the opportunity to throw to some Texas targets.
Here’s everything On3 had to say about Lacey from day one of the event. Day two continues on Wednesday.
7:57 p.m. PT: “Just finished watching Husan Longstreet, Kevin Sperry, K.J. Lacey and Ryan Montgomery. Longstreet’s arm stands out in a big way within the group. Sperry and Lacey spun it well for the most part. Montgomery tends to drop his elbow within the motion which can create a longer release time.” — Charles Power, On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings

Lacey was not ranked as one of On3’s top 11 performers from day one, but he did earn some praise from Power: “Texas commit K.J. Lacey had a solid workout. Lacey spun the ball well and generally threw with good accuracy over the course of the evening.”
