Dylan Volantis named SEC freshman of the week for the second time this season
Texas left-hander Dylan Volantis was named the Southeastern Conference freshman of the week, the league announced on Monday.

This is the second time in SEC play that Volantis has been awarded freshman of the week honors. When he received these honors the first time, it was for his efforts in the pivotal SEC matchup against LSU. Not only is this the second time for Volantis, but the second time coming off of facing a top three opponent.
The Longhorns went 3-1 over the week picking up a massive sweep over the previously No. 3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs at home.
Per the SEC: The freshman picked up his 7th save and 3rd win over the red hot Georgia Bulldogs. Going 5.1 innings pitched while giving up 0 runs, only 3 of his 18 batters faced reached the base paths this weekend. Striking 9 batters and only allowing 1 walk. The freshman was a pivotal part of the sweep against No. 3 Georgia at home.
