Eight UT football coaches to receive contract extensions, pending Board of Regents approval

The University of Texas Board of Regents is expected to approve contract extensions for eight key members of Steve Sarkisian’s Longhorn football coaching staff, including the head strength and conditioning coach and seven on-field assistants, during their regularly scheduled February meeting this week.

Head strength and conditioning coach Torre Becton received a one-year extension through the 2024 season. His salary will remain the $550,000 it’s scheduled to be for the 2023 season.
Jeff Choate, the current co-defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach, received an extension through the 2024 season. His salary for this year increases from $575,000 to $625,000. He will receive another raise to $675,000 for the 2024 season.
Tashard Choice, the running backs coach, received an extension through the 2024 season. His salary did not increase from the current $550,000.
Blake Gideon, the safeties coach, received a one-year extension through the 2024 season. His 2023 salary of $475,000 will remain the same in 2024.
Kyle Flood, the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, was originally signed through the 2023 season and was scheduled to receive $1.25 million for the upcoming year. He’s now signed through the 2025 season. He’ll make $1.325 million in 2024 and $1.4 million in 2025.
Terry Joseph, secondary coach and passing game coordinator, received an extension of his contract through the 2024 season. His salary did not change from its current $800,000 mark.

Pete Kwiatkowski, the Longhorns’ defensive coordinator and outside linebackers coach, received an extension through the 2024 season. Through payments to Kwiatkowski and his personal limited liability corporation, the Texas defensive play-caller will make $1.7 million in 2024. That figure has been Kwiatkowski’s salary since he arrived at Texas.
A.J. Milwee, the quarterbacks coach, received a one-year extension and a raise for the upcoming season from $375,000 to $425,000. He’ll be paid $425,000 in 2024 as well.
Defensive line coach Bo Davis and special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Jeff Banks both received one-year contract extensions in May of 2022.
Contract details for new wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator Chris Jackson were not released.
