ESPN College GameDay scheduled to return to Austin

Fresh off its 34-27 road win over No. 13 ranked Kansas State, Texas is back in the limelight. ESPN College GameDay knows a good matchup when it sees it and will return to Austin once again as Texas hosts undefeated TCU on November 12th.

That game will feature numerous storylines, perhaps none more prominent than Gary Patterson facing the team he’ll eventually represent in the College Football Hall of Fame. Last October, Patterson unceremoniously departed TCU after a career that spanned over two decades in Fort Worth.

Of course the game itself is worthy of GameDay’s presence. The Horned Frogs replaced Patterson with Sonny Dykes in the offseason and with the help of Patterson’s remaining players Dykes has TCU in playoff contention. Currently undefeated, TCU debuted at No. 7 in the playoff rankings last Sunday, but with Alabama’s overtime loss to LSU and Notre Dame’s win over Clemson, TCU is guaranteed to move up in the rankings after beating Texas Tech on Saturday. A win over Texas next week would further cement TCU’s playoff standing. If they can get it.

With its tradition, Texas is no stranger to hosting the ESPN crew.
