Five Longhorns invited to the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine
Five Texas Longhorns football players were invited to the 2023 NFL Combine, the league announced Wednesday. Defensive lineman Keondre Coburn, running back Roschon Johnson, running back Bijan Robinson, defensive lineman Moro Ojomo, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown were invited to represent the Longhorns in Indianapolis, Ind. from February 28 through March 6.

Last year, only kicker Cameron Dicker and defensive back Josh Thompson were invited to the 2022 Combine.
The five invitees from Texas is third in the Big 12 behind TCU’s 9 and Oklahoma’s 7.
Coburn, a second-team All-Big 12 selection in 2022, played in all 13 games during his senior year with 12 starts. He had 28 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two quarterback hurries. The Spring (Texas) Westfield product had 96 tackles in 51 games in Austin, including 14 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two passes defended, two forced fumbles, and a blocked kick. He was a participant in the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Johnson, an honorable mention All-Big 12 selection in 2022 and an unquestioned team leader for the Longhorns, played in 12 games with one start. As the second-string running back behind Robinson, Johnson rushed 93 times for 554 yards and five touchdowns. He also caught 14 passes for 128 yards and a score. He arrived at Texas as a quarterback and a member of the 2019 class but moved to running back ahead of his freshman season. He stuck there, becoming a fan favorite and team leader in the process. He rushed for 2190 yards with 23 touchdowns in his career. He was a Reese’s Senior Bowl invitee.
Robinson, the 2022 Doak Walker Award winner and an unanimous All-American, is in contention to be the first Longhorn offensive player selected in the first round since Vince Young in 2006. Fourth all-time on the Texas school rushing yardage leaderboard, Robinson ran for 1580 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2022 and added 19 catches for 314 yards and two scores. In his career, he rushed for 3410 yards and 33 touchdowns and broke the school’s longstanding season yards per carry record in 2020 with a mark of 8.2 yards per attempt.

Ojomo, a second-team All-Big 12 selection in 2022, played in 12 games with five starts this past year. He had 32 tackles with 5.5 for loss and 3.0 sacks. In his career, the Katy (Texas) product had 95 tackles with 13.5 for loss and 5.0 sacks. He was a participant in the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl.
Overshown, a first-team All-Big 12 linebacker in 2022, played in 12 games with 11 starts in his senior season. He had 96 tackles with 10.0 for loss and 4.0 sacks in the most recent campaign, and added five pass breakups. Originally a safety out of Arp (Texas), Overshown moved to linebacker ahead of the 2020 season. He ends his career with 165 tackles, 18.0 for loss, and 5 sacks plus an interception, a forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries.
Texas has had 352 players selected in the NFL Draft, good for No. 14 all time. Forty-five Longhorns have been picked in the first round of the draft, good for No. 12 all time.
The 2023 NFL Draft is scheduled to take place April 27-29 in Kansas City, Mo.
