Five-star Colin Simmons locks in Texas official visit

Inside Texas been reporting for weeks that five-star Colin Simmons was expected to make his official visit to Texas June 23-25.

The 6-foot-3, 235-pound No. 1 ranked EDGE prospect confirmed the visit date to Texas Wednesday following the Duncanville Panthers spring game.

Simmons is expected to make at least three official visits in June. Simmons told On3’s Sam Spiegelman Wednesday night that Miami (June 9-11) and Oregon (June 16-18) will also receive officials next month.

On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine leader LSU is also expected to receive an official visit. Georgia, Florida and Texas A&M are also possibilities.

Inside Texas attended Duncanville High practice last Monday to get the latest on the No. 1 ranked prospect in the Lone Star State.

Simmons was in Austin three weekends ago working out with Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons at Kollective. Kollective was founded by former Texas running back Jeremy Hills. Hills is the younger brother of former Texas and NFL offensive tackle Tony Hills.
